Africa Internet Summit 2026

AIS’26 was more than a conference. It was a meeting point for the people and institutions shaping the future of Africa’s Internet: network operators, engineers, policymakers, regulators, researchers, Internet governance actors, IXPs, technical communities, and digital infrastructure builders.

Africa’s Internet future will not be built by slogans alone, but through capability, resilient infrastructure, local interconnection, stronger institutions, IPv6 deployment, cybersecurity readiness and effectiveness, operational discipline, and the ability to translate policy principles into practical outcomes for users.

I was glad to contribute to the discussions, exchange ideas with colleagues from across the continent, and reflect on how Africa can move from participation to measurable impact.

For me, the central question remains:
How can we ensure that Internet governance, technical coordination, and infrastructure development lead to improved connectivity, enhanced resilience, increased local value, and greater digital capability for Africa?

Thank you to the AIS’26 organizers, AfNOG, AFRINIC-The Regional Internet Registry for Africa, Technology Service Providers Association Of Kenya (TESPOK), Liquid Intelligent Technologies, the speakers, participants, and everyone who made Nairobi such a meaningful gathering.
